- Mass and luxury tourism has very bad effect on the environment, cultures, societies, and economies of the countries of destination especially if the southern hemisphere.
Ethical Tourism
It's therefore necessary to develop greater consciousness about the inter-relation between tourists, tourism industry and hosting communities in order to support a real respect for cultural differences and willingness to adapt to different habits and ways of life.
Tourists should think of their role as consumer of the travel-good. Their attitude towards their choices in tourism influences the industry to offer quality ethical tourism.
We should aim to minimize the environmental and cultural impact of tourism and to respect and encourage local communities' right to decide, run and benefit from tourism in their environment.
